This course introduces the trainee to industry standards governing Fiber to the Desk (FTTD), Fiber to the Home (FTTH), and explains Zone vs. Distribution Cabling. Trainees will learn how to identify fiber types, recognize various connectors used in fiber installation, and install, terminate, splice, and properly test installed fiber cable to meet existing standards. This program also explores the history, future, and installation costs associated with fiber optics.
